Rat a Tat Cat
If you were stranded on an deserted island with 2 or more kids (heaven forbid!) this is the game you'd want to have with you! It's a game of suspense, strategy, and anticipation for kids, as well as being fun for adults to play along as well. Get rid of the high cards (rats) and go for the low cards (cats). Low score wins the game. As children play, they develop a sense of timing and an understanding of basic math concepts. They learn to remember their cards and strategies to figure out what cards other players might have. They begin to develop an intuitive sense of probability. Rat-a-tat Cat requires skill, strategy, and awareness, challenging both children and adults. Each hand plays in a couple of minutes so it's fine to play before bedtime.
